Trim Enabler is designed to make it as simple as possible to enable Trim in macOS. The only control is a simple switch that controls whether Trim is enabled or disabled. Once Trim is enabled, you will need to restart your computer for the changes to take effect. Disabling Trim is just as easy - simply flip the switch and reboot your computer.
A status field will give a more detailed description of the current state of Trim. If your SSD is connected through unusual means, Trim Enabler might not be ale to detect the status correctly. To ensure Trim is working, you can go to System Information in macOS (top left Apple -> About This Mac -> System Report) and check under S-ATA (or PCI-e/Storage depending on your version of Mac). If your drive supports Trim, it should list a "Trim Support" entry.
- If it says "Yes", Trim is enabled
- If it says "No", Trim is not enabled, but can be enabled using Trim Enabler.
- If the value is not listed, your SSD, or the interface it is connected through, does not support Trim.
